About 20 years ago I rescued a bunch of scrapbooks of pictures of old cars from the basement of a house I was remodeling. Most of them do not have a source.
I am an 80 something guy who likes to ask a lot of questions and ponder the meaning of life. My hobbies include art work, fishing, crosswords, board games and reading.
I have here a mixture of turn of the century cars. Some of the names you will recognize such as Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Winston and Alpha Romeo. Also a hint at the early years of Daytona racing. I remember around 1936 that my dad took us in his model A Ford and drove on the beach and spelled "V 8" because he yearned for a new Ford V8 ! I think we got one the next year.
After a hundred years the car makers are returning to their old ideas. What would cars be today if they had stayed with electrics all along and refined and improved them instead of using the internal combustion engines with their polluting , gas guzzling ways? Perhaps we would have more powerful batteries and smoother running vehicles. I guess we will never know.

I am constantly amazed at how many rich guys have attempted to build their own cars over the years. I have thousands of different makes and models in my scrapbooks. Some time I would like to catalog them by name and year so as to make it easier to retrieve them. If you are looking for a particular car and let me know what it is and include your e-mail address I will be happy to keep an eye out for it as I go through my scrapbooks.

I'm sorry about not posting for a few weeks but I was on vacation. I have 22 scrapbooks with hundreds of pictures and clippings in each so it might take a while! I wont dump them on you all at once, just a few each week.
